How does everyone else store?

I was just curious as to how others stored their pieces and kept them
organized and tidy.  With my evergrowing collections I have to keep
expanding to new storage bins and reorganizing which gets to become a hassle
sometimes.

Hi Matthew -
There's a whole group centered around discussing this.  lugnet.storage.  I
crossposted and set the followups to there.

I store in a variety of bin sizes, from the 1200pc tub (3033) size, to some
Sterilite shoebox sized bins, a few 60 drawer parts cabinets, and some Plano
and Bait Box tackle boxes.  I sort specialty parts by function and bricks
and plates by color.

I'm also expanding my storage as my colleciton grows, naturally.
'Graduating' several categories when they overflow to bigger units or
breaking down large categories further.

This is all for a collection estimated at 60,000 pieces.

Here is my LEGO table:

I have Bricks, Slopes, and Plates sorted by color in the large bins
beneath my table. Smaller specialty parts and Technic are stored in the
drawer bins above. I have added a fourth drawer unit since this picture
was taken.

I have my collection stored in a simliar process:

Small parts in tilt bins (need many more):

Bulk bricks stored by color, slopes by style (inverted / regular),plates by
size (1xn,2xn,modified,nxn), tiles, Technic beams, arches, wheels, windows,
windshields all stored in drawers:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=90909

And stuff that needs to be sorted in x-large tubs:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=90913
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=90914

Then blue tubs for overflow bulk bricks and to-be-sorted stuff:

(also you can see I use brown boxes for more bulk overflow)

Hi James -
Nice storage system!  I have somewhat similar, but haven't invested in the
large drawers yet.

A note to all - please continue discussing this thread in the appropriate
group, lugnet.storage.
