the wall.
I once set a styrene model of a Klingon D-7 on top of a lamp - just for a
second! - and the result was catastrophic.

| | | | At least (judging from the pictures) you only lost basic bricks. Replacing
those gray arches is a whole different problem.

The 6x2x1 did take enough heat to make one of its "feet" slightly loose, but
it's still useable. Also lost a couple of the inverted slopes. I might just
leave it on the mantle as a reminder...

Yep. But they're really loose - the initial deformation seems to be slight
widening at the bottom, making them very "floppy". Actually a fair few of the
bricks which look OK are affected like this 8?(

It was a gas heater on medium (for about 10 mins). The bricks were about 40cm
(16") away, off to one side. (Hmmmm. starting to sound like a recipe!) If you
have some to spare, it might be interesting to see what the result is if the
bricks are upside-down or on their side!
Note also that this wasn't the whole damage - but I was so angry I ripped the
rest apart straight away....

Be my guest!!!!! I admit that the look does have some possibilities, just not
for this particular project!
