I've only ever had one dealing with them, and it was about 5 years ago.
I had picked up a lot of pieces with a few sets in it and I was missing
a few of the key elements for some of the sets.  I called and talked to
one woman for about 30 mins, we went through all the directions best we
could and she took the order.  By the end of it she told me next time
I'm missing this many pieces (15 or 20) to write a letter to them
instead of calling them, try to include a picture from the instructions
so they can be sure exactly which piece you need and they'll get back to
you with the availablity and price.  She sounded pretty upset that I
took a half hour of her time, of course we only got through half the
sets, and I've never contacted them again. I didn't like her attitude in
the least :(

Of course if I'd have known about this service when I was younger I
probably would have gotten my mom to call about some of the sets that
I've had since I was little.. at least then I might have the pieces..
also don't expect them to have anything older than the last 3 or 4 years
:(

I'd suggest writing a letter, Brickshelf, Word and Photo editing
software would work perfect for this.. I started a letter a while back
that maybe someday I'll mail off to them.

Hi,

To what extent would Lego Consumer Affairs help to replace "lost" pieces?
Would anybody happen to know?  (As in, what if I was missing 50 pieces?)

Thanks in advance,

Bryan
