I think you are being a bit unreasonable.
The discussion is about a fundamental functionality of LDraw,
which has impact on all programs.
Agreement is important to ease the life of the end user: *one* place for setup.
We try to accomodate special wishes about e.g. hide-flags.
Adding < > around HIDE was an important step for future needs.
We also try to come up with something that can work on all platforms.

I understand your impatience. Internet discussions take very long time
due to different online times.
But I think it important to get many comments, one can easily overlook details
because you often have a certain use in mind.

I do hope you'll join the final agreement and support it.
