As a volunteer aboard the museum ship S.S. Lane Victory, I thought I would try
my hand at a micro-scale model (roughly 1 stud = 10ft) of her in LDD. Got her
done just in time to order a few copies before the designByME service shuts
down.
Model utilizes extensive snot work for the hull form. Click image for link to
brickshelf. Gallery will be updated with photos of the real thing once I get my
order in from TLG.
Some info about the S.S. Lane Victory:
Victory class merchant ship launched May 31, 1945. One of 531 hulls built,
she sailed as a cargo vessel during WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War. She
participated in the amphibious evacuation of Wonson and Hungnam during the
Korean war, rescuing over 7000 Korean refugees in one trip.
She is currently a museum ship moored today in San Pedro, California and a
memorial honoring all merchant seamen. Today the S.S. Lane Victory conducts
annual summer Victory at Sea cruises enabling todays generations experience
what life at sea was like during the war.

Thanks to Aaron for resurrecting this forum with the first now post in 8
months! Heres my own contribution of a new MOC this week:
105mm howitzer mounted on a M3 tank chasis. The M7 was an indispensable
self-propelled and was directly responsible for halting numerous German
counterattacks in North Africa and Europe. This particular model is outfitted
for British use in North Africa...

I heard that an Aussie shot down the Baron, and now another one has resurrected

Now back to continue what was started, He continues to war war on allied Pilots
90 years after his death, All fear the DEAD BARON
The inspiration for this came when sorting parts, and I saw a pair of goggles on
a skull. the I saw the sheer number of light sabre blades and flag I owned, and
the Idea took shape.
In the process of creating the DR1, I had to make an Undamaged one as a template
for the Battle scarred one. The scale is a little large for a minifig, but it is
as small as I wanted to go to preserve detail. The undamaged DR1 is quite
swooshable.

Hey Andrew,
This is really nice! It has the feel of a Lego set, and the landing gear are
especially well done! Nice use of the X-Wing nose piece too!
Great work!

This is my 1st attempt at making a starfighter with a fixed swept-forward
wing design. It probably comes off more as a futuristic jet than a starfighter.
It features 2 laser cannons, 4 missiles, & retractable landing gear.

The Tenacious Class Guided Missile Boat complements the earlier Courageous Class
in that it provides long-range fire in comparison to its short-range torpedo
boat counterpart.
Full details:

Page 2.
Page 3.
Here we see the Gladius missile system which mounts five ship-killing missiles.
The Gladius missile system incorporates a rotating firing platform. Although the
system can allow for off-bore firing, full 360 degree firing is also possible,
and firing directly at a target can allow for a longer range as opposed to
off-bore firing which can reduce the missile range as it turns to acquire its
target.
View of the helmsman and Captains positions. The Captain sits in a raised
position with a repeater display to his right that can show any of the ships
status displays.

That would be three modern/future weapons. Star Wars is a long time ago.

No, theyve never done any sort of modern military helmet, and there are
currently only six recent detailed modern/future weapons (SW blaster, SW rifle,
SW pistol, tommygun, short barrel semi-auto, and long-barrel semi-auto). No
bolt-action rifles. Looks to be the BrickArms M1 Garand WW2 Rifle and M1
Steel Pot Helmet.

And what is the stick-element used as a grave marker?

Thats another bolt-action rifle, stuck barrel-first into a 2x2 tile w/ pin

The figures helmets and rifles are from Brickarms. Not sure of the name of the
piece holding the rifle but Ive got loads of em.

A very cool vignette--poignant and effective, with an economy of bricks. I like
the tree, and I like the overall staging.
