The weeks leading up to and following MWBC have been a time of busy building for me, and so I’ve got a few things to share with you all today...

A Moonbase Module bunker for the PCS Star Ranger forces:

^Click the pic for Brickshelf, or click this link for the Mocpage where I will ramble on and on about the construction and display of the module.

The Jade Empire Shi hovercraft:

^Brickshelf or the Mocpage

A small one-man ground-based fightercraft that was based on the Manta vehicle from Unreal Tournament 2004. Shi means “to sting.”

See another Manta-inspired craft by Rick Hallman here.

Those of you saw my Nacon Hovership at NWBC were the last to see it intact. I brought it home and decided its time had come and the parts needed to go back into my collection for use in other mocs. Since it was my biggest moc thus far, I decided to document the deconstruction process as a single large Matrix-inspired hovership was broken down to its 1400 elements.

But fear not, for the Humans still resist the Machines...in the form of Jamie Neufeld’s Zoar Hovership. Jamie’s hovership such a neat little craft that I finally broke down and built a couple for myself which were displayed at NWBC with Nacon, and you can see here by clicking the pic above. Or click here for the Mocpage, because I feel like talking about this creation, too.

If you’ve got suggestions for the Shi hovercraft or the bunker, I’m all ears. There’s parts of both mocs that I am not happy with, and I’m totally up for changing things around if I get any good ideas from someone. The bare top of the radar dish on the bunker roof is particularly enticing to me, but I’ve yet to come up with a weapon or sensor to put there that I am happy with. As for the hovercraft, the sides seem a bit bare and exposed to me, so any ideas for greebling or armor plating or weapons are appreciated.

Thanks for looking!

Ry

(...) Hey buddy, sweet. I dig the hidden missiles and the overall shape. Cool little generator too. I'm thinking a Sandlin-esque FRAP ray on that dish, except small. Or something. (...) Pretty. I love the binoculars/dino tails combo and the (...) (20 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Cool. Lots of fun features. That powerplant must be dangerous, for them to situate it outside the bunker :-) (...) I like the use of the horns here. As for suggestions, perhaps you could put an additional horn on each side, helping to enclose (...) (20 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

I dig the little outpost. I could see a smattering of them around the perimeters of a moonbase with tunnels leading to each one for quick access to hot spots. I do agree, there should be a small frap ray of some sort either on top of the main (...) (20 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Alright, first and formost Ryan, I must say thank you for your work at NWBC with the Eastern Block. your work in rebuilding the capitalist FedEx sabotage is commendable and expect a personel "New Men of the Block" 2005 Calender at your desk soon! (...) Really cool. A nice addition to moonbase. I like all the small hatches and how it's built in the ground. (...) I looooove the compactness of this one. It just looks small and fast. Well done. I wouldn't change much on this one. (...) Very nice (...) (20 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
