..And some others. I’ve had pictures on webshots for a while but I’m just now getting around to posting.

Ball Pump

This module can be used to span large gaps by extending the ramp and using the 8288 Crawler Crane as a support. In the video I’ve shortened the ramp, I don’t have enough floor space for a longer module.

Spiral

I’ve wanted to make a spiral for a while, but only now got the spiral to work. The lift was thrown together in less than an hour, and somehow it hasn’t broken down yet.

Stepper

This is one of my older modules, it’s loosely based off this module from Brickfest ‘06. The stepping part works great, but the input hopper jams from time to time.

Conveyor and Switches

The conveyor is one of my original modules, the switches are based off of Brian Davis’ design. The funnel at the end is made of chain links with the innermost ring wrapped around a small tire.

Scooper

The scooper is based off of the original train unloader; two arms that drop the balls off onto a ramp. It can handle sudden batches of balls without jamming, but once too many come in it can shoot balls out in random directions. You can also see the switches’ funnel.

Small Pump and Separator

This is my first module, a 10x10 ball pump that detects jams and counts balls. I added the Separator back in January, a description is here.

Wave

This module uses 19 stacks of 1x2 bricks, each one plate taller than the last, on pulley wheels offset 1/6 of a rotation from each other. The side walls aren’t needed to keep the balls on the columns, but any bumps the module recieves dislodges the balls. Normally they stay centered between the two studs on the bricks.

Some very well done modules Kevin. I really like the "Wave" module. It moves quickly enough to make it more interesting than a slower set of steps. Bryan (17 years ago, 5-Aug-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) Great stuff, I also like the wave very much, the movement is really smooth. I've wanted to do something like that for a while, but I'm still unsure how to drive the movement... how did you do it? You seem to use 3-way blades, am I correct in (...) (...) pictures of the interal mechanism? And how is it on jamming? I really like the way you left one corner of the lift tower open, it just looks so much better with the ball motion visible. When I finally get a ball pump working that I like, I (...) (17 years ago, 5-Aug-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)
