Hi!
This is my first posting here on Lugnet, although I am already member for a
slightly longer time. I moved from Germany to the Netherlands, so it was time to
get deeper into the history and culture of my new home country. Since I visited
the Mauritshuis in The Haag I was and
still am very impressed by the painting The Anatomy Lecture of Dr. Nicolaes
Tulp by Rembrandt van Rijn. Inspired by this fabulous artwork I rebuilt it in
Lego.
Here is the result:
Hope, you enjoy it!
More about my buildings you can find
here.
Regards,
Barbara

Thats a great first posting! I love the selection of beardy faces and the
lighting of the photo. The red arm and hand is nice idea. I havent seen the
collar part before, what sets does it come in?

Thats really fantastic - especially side by side with the
original. Thanks for
posting, and welcome to LUGNET, Barbara!
PS - Your Harvey
poster is excellent, too.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Very nice work! A tremendous introduction, and a vey good composition. The
various heads suit the painting so well, your choices were excellent. Thanks for
sharing!
God Bless,

Hello Barbara,
Welcome to Lugnet! This is a great creation, and, as Marc said, beautifully
captures the original. The red hand is a nice touch. I love this idea of
recreating artworks and would love to see more of these from you.
BTW, I posted a link to this on
Classic-Castle.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Hi Bruce!
Thank you! Also for posting it on Classic-Castle, I am not member so please say
thanks for the great reactions on my MOC.
I followed the discussion over the body on the table. As you mentioned it is the
back of Leias torso (Sail Barge), the legs of Harry Potter and the face of Ron
Weasley (Rescue from the Merpeople).

I build another one a longer time ago:
Here you can find the

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ooh, excellent recreation, Barbara!
When I first got my hands on one, I had the same thought about how that baby bib
would make a great Renaissance era collar. I even tried it on a couple of Brick
Testament characters, but it just looked too anachronistic. Your use of it
works perfectly here, though.
Great choice for the minifig faces, especially the cadaver!
I also really like the use of the white rubber band for the cadavers clothing.
I may have to borrow that idea myself. Not literally for myself, but for my own
minifig creations. :)
Can anybody identify what piece is being used as the pages inside the books?
Looking forward to your future works!

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Hi Brendan!
Thanks for your words! Especially because I am following your works on the bible
as well! You do a really great job.

Of course I can! They are Lego stickers (nothing else but Lego would be built
into my MOCs) and they appear in this set:
