This is my first mech build. Even though this is a small mech, it was a good
learning experience and was definitely different than building spaceships. Any
comments, criticism and suggestions on how to improve future builds are very
appreciated.

explanation of the pics
Brickshelf: Pics,
including a WIP folder that shows this models progress from piddling weeniebot
to something a bit more menacing
Thanks for looking!

Hi Dennis,
First off Id like to congratulate you on a great little mech! Awesome colours,
nice proportions, and great detailing. I love the guns, big and mean looking! I
normally prefer more humanoid looking mecha, but what you have done here is
great. I think the photos set the whole thing off perfectly with some nice shots
of all the little details... Id definately like to see more, you obviously have
a keen eye for building mecha!

No criticism or suggestions; I love it. Great colour scheme, Im always a fan of
black+white+other colour, and your green / trans-green detailing works really
well. Its lovely and compact yet really beefy looking; those cannons are
fabulous. To reiterate: nice work!

This is an excellent Mecha, Dennis !
It is reminiscent of The Mac 2 Monster from Robotech. (Always was one of my
favs!)
I look forward to seeing what you build next!

Well being a humble castle builder I cant offer any advice but... green is my
faviourite colour and the compactness of this MOC give it a nice meanness
without a human resembelance. Overall I really like it. Great work!
God Bless,
Nathan

Thanks everyone for the very kind and encouraging words. I should mention that
it was everyones awesome-looking Iron Mecha entries here that inspired me to
try building a mech. After this model, Im definitely motivated to doing more.
Currently Im planning on building another with the same basic frame, but
hopefully I can come up with something that has quite a different look.
Jas: Thanks! I love the mechs youve built. Your recent Gundam is awesome,
but what I really like best is your Multiped Tank, with its unique looks and great looking sculpted nose.
Mark: Glad you like the finished model, and thanks again for your advice when
I was starting out. It helped me out a great deal when I was struggling with
the joints and saved me from more frustration!
Matthew: Thanks, Im glad you liked the color scheme. I saw
your Iron Mecha and love the color
scheme on that one. That red band really rocks.
Jon: Thanks! I also am a big fan of the Monster mech from Robotech/Macross,
and it was actually an inspiration for this mechs style.
Nathan: Thanks! Im glad to know that even castle fans like this MOC! :)
This is my first MOC that uses green, and I do like the look. Im definitely
going to have to acquire more green parts in the future.

The fact that you built this kickass mech under my dradis both frightens and
delights me. Your mecha story is similar to mine. I just got up one day and
decided to take a stab at mecha after two many years of looking at other
peoples work. I look forward to more of your work.

This is a sweet Mech. The color scheme rocks and I just love the fact that this
thing looks so mean for a small mech. All of the parts seem to have a purpose
and while lots of detail (greebles?) is sometimes fun its also nice to see the
subtle and meaningful detail that youve acheived in this mech.
Like you, Im new to all this too. My first mech that Im proud to show is the
Assassin which I hope youve seen in this thread.

Tonight Ill be posting my second MOC mech. Ive created a pretty decent
version of the AT-PT star wars transport. Its not a particulartly tough mech
to model as its pretty boxy but Im still in the early phases of this mech
design. I constructed it entirely from a drawing in the Star Wars Vehicles
guide so Im pretty happy with the way I was able to bring it to life. Its
also a minifig scale (I think). Ill post it in the Star Wars section here.
