this latest moc, a luxury beach house,
was designed to accommodate the friends and aquaintances who can always find
their way to someones beach house. the house is completely symetrical and
modular to allow for compact packing. the main house with double staircase
encircles the central courtyard with double entrances from the side. two outer
buildings house private apartments for houseguests. build a beach house and
they will come.
the terrace patio overlooks the ocean and is divided by the reflecting saltwater
pool. through feats of lego engineering (of which i dont they are at all
possible) the shallow pool uses salt water and sends water in both directions,
over the waterfall into the ocean and towards the courtyard into a fountain
pool.
i dont usually put minifigs anywhere near my mocs but this moc made its way to
brickfest and into the town room and therefore i was strongly convinced that
this would be a good thing. maybe sometimes im not always right!
because it doesnt open up like my regular mocs and is not furnished, it didnt
seem to garner as much interest as its companion at the show, the italian villa
with aquarium pool, but the minifigs earned a few chuckles. i am tempted to open
it up and decorate the interior and may still do so because it will be featured
in the beach area of our lugs next train show, railfair, in october.
enjoy. after
moderation.

I love it!
Great use of parts, the patio chairs are sweet. And I like the colors. Sweep of
the roof gets style points too!

thank you. maroon (dark red) is my favourite colour and a chance to use it in a
moc was great. ive been saving these pieces for a while and loved the mix with
butter yellow. had a lot of fun with the patio set, 3 designs to get the chairs
sitting at angles to the table and reclining properly. was afraid the roof line
was a little stark after designing the rooftop garden of the italian villa but
most people at brickfest commented that it was reminiscent of miami art deco so
i guess it does work!

theyre initially from my wishin and hopin and prayin folder but they were realized by my fellow lug
member, norbert black,
who will paint anything that will stand still long enough. another lug member,
jason alleman, has painted flowers black
to create the lego
logo in his flower mosaic style.
