Hi train and tram folks,
I havnt finished the advertising stickers jet but I wanted to take some pics of
my first 6-wide Train MOC ever: The old Stuttgart Tram Linie 15
The original is narrow gage so it was a bit complicated to hide a normal 9 V
motor and normal 9 V train wheels under the yellow cabin. My main aim was to
build a good looking and realistic model, rather then a good model for playing
and driving S-curves or points. And in fact the tram only runs on straight and
curved tracks.
As in Stuttgart my tram now can carry visitors up to the entrance of the famous
televison tower.
This concept picture shows the steering mechanism. Red dots are piviot-points,
red lines are the fixed axles.
The real one could be found in Stuttgart on only one more line.
My Tram without stickers ..

Does someone have another idea for smaller front lights? The white space-dish
(2x2) seems to be a bit to large.

Holger

Have you tried a chrome silver 1x1 round plate mounted into a technic brick
(stud in). That should give you a nice chrome ring and then take a piece of
soft white Lego tubing and cut down just enought to fit inside the 1x1 round to
make the white looking lens. Alternately, just omit the tubing.

How bout a grey minifig head stud reliefed into the space in front of the
drivers controls? Or a grey piston head (Although Im not sure about how youd
attach it.) These two came to mind after I asked myself what is smaller than a
2x2 round yet bigger than a 1x1 round.
HTH....

works photos of the underside

I dont see that as being a problem, you just have the tram track seperate from
the rest of the track on your layout, the same as in real life.

I have to say this is definatly one to add to my favorites. I feel you have
captured the look and propertion of the real thing pretty well and although the
articulated section looks a little long it blends in well and you dont notice
it. It is a good solution for this part of articulated trams, its something that
is always hard. I also like the structure and detailing of the tram stop, it
makes for some great minifig eye photographs

Looking at the picture of the real tram I think the 1x1 round chrome plate
mounted stud in mentioned elsewhere would actully be about the right size.

Very awesome work on the wheel setup, and making such a faithful representation
of the tram!
