Is there any way to incorporate an Ignore Thread or Prune Tree skip
filter setting into the web interface? There are occasionally threads(1)
which start out innocent enough but invariably degenerate into a convoluted
tree that overshadows and buries any content worth reading. Usually, I just
disappear for a couple of days and everything has moved to another group or
(blessedly) died altogether by the time I return.

In tandem with this is a problem Ive been having with large threads that I *do*
want to read. When I click on dots I get the thread tree, but I cant see
where I just came from! Is it possible to record the source-post of the request
for dots and replace it with a star, as it does in the inline version of the
thread tree?
Alternately, perhaps the cutoff for size of a thread for suppression of the dots
to occur can be either set by the user or raised as a whole? I know bandwidth
is an issue for the servers, but I do rather like that dots display and it
becomes utterly useless once its suppressed because of the above problem with
orienting oneself.
Hey, what with all the zombie movies out right now, can you ever be sure its
really dead...?
all best
