Is there any way to incorporate an “Ignore Thread” or “Prune Tree” skip filter setting into the web interface? There are occasionally threads(1) which start out innocent enough but invariably degenerate into a convoluted tree that overshadows and buries any content worth reading. Usually, I just disappear for a couple of days and everything has moved to another group or (blessedly) died altogether by the time I return.

I would prefer not to add an entire group to the current skip filter for a single thread as there are topics that I wish to be kept abreast of within that group. It would be easier if there were a filter that pruned the tree or trimmed the thread from a given post rather than slog through the excessive reiteration that some people feel the need to post.
