This year's Midnight MOCkery, the Gothic themed building contest for
Halloween, is now open for entries.
For more information see here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.markham/index.htm
Last year Matherette ran the 1st Annual Midnight MOCkery, but she does not
seem to be running an event this year. Having been unable to contact her to
seek permission, I am going ahead and running a similar competition this
year. At the very least I want to credit her with the original idea and
format though.

The first 6 entries for this Halloween competition have been recieved and
posted on the site. Please show your appreciation of everybody's efforts so
far by going and having a look at them here:

There are still 3 weeks to get your entry in, for a chance to win one of the
great Lego prizes on offer!
So get building - anything on a Gothic or spooky Halloween theme is
welcomed, and it doesn't have to be on an epic scale.
Gratitude goes out again to Matherette for the original idea.

Firstly a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who took the time and trouble to
enter. I think you'll agree that there was some great work going on here:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.markham/index.htm
There is a link to the start up of the Third Annual Midnight MOCkery, and
you can enter at any time over the next 12 months!
There were a couple more entries than last year. Next year I would like it
to be HUGE! Any suggestions for improvements would be more than welcomed.
(and I CAN take criticism!)
I would like to have the judging done by a voting system if I can work out
something feasible. What do you think?
The Diorama category was by far the most popular. Do you think the
categories need to be altered?
Did the prizes suck? What would you like to win?
And last but by no means least, a big thanks to Sarah Mather for the
original concept.

You'll find they are much cheaper in the USA. For example in England the
sets sell for the follow prices:
Hogwart's Castle £79.99 (nearly $120)
Hogwart's Express £39.99 (nearly $60)
Hagrid's Hut £24.99 (over $35)
The difference in price in the smaller sets is not as big, but they are
still ALL more expensive in Europe :-(
