It's the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System 1.5. The Robotics
Invention System 2.0 is not expected to ship until Q3 2001.

The LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System 2.0 is planned (read that:
planned) for global release in Q3 2001. As you probably know, a
Japanese-language version is already available in, of course, Japan:

I do not know for certain but I believe that availability for version 1.5
should increase in the meantime. I think I heard that somewhere but cannot
confirm.

The latter, and I will probably be dropping by with a comment or two now and
then to let LUGNET know when LEGO has made improvements to their site that
might otherwise go unnoticed. Don't ask for anything juicy, though -- I don't
do insider information!

I'd like to add that the LEGO MINDSTORMS European "Demo Tour" is continuing
through mid-December. You can find the schedule at the German-language LEGO

Hey everybody -
This is just a quick hello note from NYC after the first day of the CAD

so far and very inspiring to interact with LEGO Direct and what they have to
say.

From LEGO:

(pictures coming soon...we're working on it)
The contents of the meetings are under NDA, so we cannot discuss them in any
detail. Any information about the specifics will have to come from LEGO
Direct when they decide to announce it.
Tomorrow (Sunday) we're having the LDraw.org meeting at the Barnes & Noble
in Union Square (see my earlier post to cad.dev.org.ldraw for details) if
you would like to attend. The meeting is pretty focused, but you are
welcome to come and share ideas.
Anyways, gotta get some sleep, its only a few short hours before we do this
all over again.
-Tim
