  Re: Building a three-foot bridge

(...) Well, Brian, I can say one of my 60 inch long ZNAP bridge twisted and collapse at a train show, with the GFLTC (no pics). Two trains fell 30+ inches to the ground out side in the dirt! The best bet for a ZNAP bridge is to support the track on (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.znap)

  Re: Building a three-foot bridge

(...) Well there's Wayne Hussey's bridge which was built out of znap (URL) it's a bit longer than you need, but I imagine it would've been impossible to use if it had a twisting problem. Maybe you could adapt his deck construction technique? Also I (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.znap)

Here is one photo of my lift bridge that has a 32" span (approximately): (URL) holds up very well, and i assume that you could make it even longer if you needed to. -Rob www.cei.net/~rhendrix/lego.html www.msltc.org "Brian Kendig" (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.znap)

(...) ... Brian: I've built some ZNAP and Technic bridges of similar lengths but haven't run into the twisting problem. Any chance you can post a picture of what you have? That would help a lot. Cary (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.znap)

  Building a three-foot bridge

I want to build a bridge to cross a one-meter gap between two train platforms. The bridge must hold two straight lengths of track, spaced with one trackwidth between them (the distance there would be if you snapped two cross-intersection track (...)   Loads of Znap available if anyone is interested

This all comes from a collection we bought out, where we are mostly interested in the sets, and not the Duplo/Znap/Buckets/B...ic/Creator stuff that was also collected. So we assigned a relatively low "value" to these portions of the collection but (...) (22 years ago, 15-Sep-02, to lugnet.znap)

  Re: Interfacing Znap to System

(...) You should look around Brickshelf.com, someone was working on a monorail system using Znap as the rail. Perhaps you could intergrate the track and the bridge's topmost strut into one Znap thing-bob. Aaron (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.znap)

  Re: Interfacing Znap to System

(...) Well, truth be told, I just wanted a place to put all the Star Wars figures together, and we were running out of space (no pun intended there) to put figures. The bridge was empty, and I had a handful of Star Wars figures closeby, so I just (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.znap, lugnet.build)

(...) plates and tiles stacked 3 high, but it's a very tight fit. If you keep thinking of 1 stud wide, 1 studless brick high ways of connecting, there may be some really cool uses for these connectors yet. -Dave (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.znap, lugnet.build)

  Re: Motorized landing gear question

(...) I'd suggest it's not necessary for the landing gear to lift the craft - just to hold it up. If it's only operated while there's no weight on the craft, it becomes much easier, you only need some kind of locking mechanism so the motor isn't (...)   Motorized landing gear question

I've been pondering using one of the Znap motors to power a landing gear mechanism strong enough to at least hold, if not lift a decent sized space craft (including the motor and battery box- if possible) Any ideas?   Re: Interfacing Znap to System

  Re: Interfacing Znap to System

You may have already discovered this, but creations built of Znap are almost always an odd number of System studs long. I built a Space Freighter frame and the cargo containers all had to be 7 studs wide and seven studs long. I forget how tall they (...) (23 years ago, 31-Jan-02, to lugnet.znap, lugnet.build)

  Interfacing Znap to System

With the proliferation of Znap on clearance, I have been wondering how Znap can be interfaced to System. Here I present four possible methods: (URL) Method 1 - uses <part:2476> Plate 2 x 2 with Pin. Multiple of these are stagered along a znap beam. (...) (23 years ago, 27-Oct-01, to lugnet.znap, lugnet.build)
