I've bought a number of copies of several of the larger sets: 3551, 3552, 3571,
3591 as well as dozens of the smaller ones. I haven't done a part analysis, but it
seems like I get proportionally more straight beams in the larger sets. I'd
recommend picking the color of the beam you want: green, black or red, and then
buying the larger sets that use a lot of that color. The illustrations on the box
are pretty good for guessing the number of beams in the box.
