Is the laser thing in some of the Rock Raiders sets dangerous (and is it even a
real laser?) I'm afraid of it.

| (...) a (...) No. There is no warning on the box or instructions. It's just an LED (which does provide a pretty intense point source light, which is why they're used for instrumentation panels [well, that and the fact that they are cheap and last (...)
