12/5/04 We have decided to attend the NMRA national convention along with about
a dozen other LTCs in the ILTCO in Cincinnati in July. This will be our first
scheduled public display as we haven’t scheduled anything for sure in the
meantime. I am almost certain we will show before that point in order to insure
that the main event in Cincy runs smoothly. We are currently in the process of
creating a “traveling layout” for public expositions that will temporarily
“borrow” from the clubhouse layout and be a lot easier to transport. The
portable layout will be a combination of “built-up” style versus “plywooder”
style.
11/25/04 Well, we did it! In 3 days we moved the main TCLTC layout and set it up
in its new location and transferred a ton of inventory as well. Now we will be
able to access all sides so that we can build on the unfinished modules.
11/9/04 We finished painting the room where the layout will end up-- hopefully
we will be able to move the layout to its new home before Thanksgiving.
10/24/04 It was a busy summer and autumn and not much was accomplished on the
layout-- least of which taking some pics of it:-( But now it appears we will
have to! Big news! The main TCLTC layout will be moving to a new location in
order to provide “teen living space” for, well, for my teens! We will retain the
Thomas section in the TCLTC “clubhouse”. Also, work has begun on the Marsbase
Space Train layout, but that project is mostly in the “brick acquisition” stage.
We will be preparing the new location for the layout in the upcoming weeks.
6/1/04 Well, it has been almost 2 months since the last update and unfortunately
there isn’t much new to report. We have been very busy with “life”, and it
hasn’t left much time to work on the layout:-( And when there is a little time,
we have used it to work on smaller projects. I really am hoping to make some
progress this month and get photographs taken!
4/9/04 Hmmm, I’m pretty sure I had an update about a couple of weeks ago, but it
appears to be gone. Perhaps I forgot to save it:-( Anyway, it has been a little
over a year since this site went up, and it has been a good year.
1/26/04 Wow, it’s been quite a while since the last update; not much new has
been done on the layout. I am about half-finished with the waterfall module,
with no time in the near future to complete it:-( I built a Moonbase Module to
take with me to BrickFest PDX next month, but that is about all. I’m hoping
after BrickFest we’ll have some good building time again.
