The monorails didn't accelerate at all (or decelerate much going up the
spiral) thanks to LEGO's cog drive on the monorail motor. One battery has
lasted two shows for my black+yellow 4 car train. Mike Walsh's 4 car Airport
Shuttle has rechargable batteries, but still lasts over a day. Thomas Main
brought a custom monorail as well.
The spirals were remarkably stable and didn't flex at all. The design is
very fragile and crumbles easily, but worked without a problem for the
entire show.
The first show had quite a few monorail crashes, but this show we only had
one. We had a pair running at all times, one on the front half and one on
the back. Last time we often had a faster one run the loop in front of a
slower one, but this time I was too chicken to let a pair of monorails chase
each other around the spirals.

I'm endebted to Mike for getting me those stanchions, which are part of the
Europe-only soccer field light sets.

Thanks for the complements. All of the tall buildings are mine. I'm a tall
building (and sorting) junkie :) I'm finally figuring out how to transport
tall buildings, too. Bubble wrap is good, but styroform forms are the
fastest way for me to pack and unpack. (See the Friday pictures for examples
of both.)
