How much is a reasonable amount?
$100 $1000?

1000 is definitely way too much, at this point. I think GMLTC typically • looked
for some amount that would cover the expenses (gas, budget lodging if it • was a
long way away from MSP, etc.)... 100 seems reasonable, maybe a bit more. • I'd
ask GATS for help and leave it open, see what they offer. The NMRA, no • matter
how much they profess to love you, isn't in it for the money and doesn't • have
the funds to defray club exhibition expenses.

We're not talking a big money making gig, just something to help
improve/defray club finances. J1 or J3 are probably best qualified to • comment
on asking for expense help.

Try Tim Courtney - he seems to get everything for free... :-)

J2 is your man to contact about getting shirts, he
got some very nice embroidered ones for GMLTC (I bought 2, and wear them • at
client sites to "show the flag".. I found 2 closet LUGNET lurkers at my • latest
client in Jackson MS!!! :-) )

It would be nice if we looked more formal with skirt, large banner sign,
maybe roped off build area. Use fee to buy skirt, etc?

That's a good idea.

On the roping/plexi thing it's clear that different clubs have totally
different opinions on that. Nothing wrong with that, but it's interesting • to
see the contrasts... from GFLTC which is boxed in tight, all the way to • GMLTC
which is wide open (but has LOTS of members working at one time which • reduces
the incidence of incidents).

There is no one right answer. Do what you're comfortable with, and be
situational... shows vary. I favor the GMLTC approach but totally • understand
why others may not. Their MOCs may be hard to reproduce! (but remember, • GMLTC
slogan is "we love to build" so they're OK with reengineering on the fly.)

The GMLTC doesn't have to worry much about mixing bricks, either, as they
are all from the same pool (with a few exceptions).  Ours are from seperate
collections.
