Sounds like fun to me as long as the Dinner doesn't have to many rare parts
to make it prohibative.

I don't think that the parts are too rare.  Here is the official Spamcake
Diner web site-- see for yourself (although I know that the outside has
undergone subsequent revision since those pics were taken-- I saw the
completed model at the Kidvention:-)

Looks good, I actually think I remember it now.  The only thing I see missing
is a nice sign running down the center of the roof with the diner logo on it.

Of course I guess they don't all have to be identical as
long as they all follow a basic theme (Both color wise and architechurally).
I know all the Hard Rock's arn't identical.

True, but I think that it would be best to follow the original as closely as
possible (and why not, it's an awesome MOC!)  I just would want Tom to get the
credit (maybe we call them "Tom McDonald's Spamcake Diner"?).

I think we could stay true to the Spamcake while adding a special local
"flavor" to the design.  Heck there are even variations in McDonald's (The fast
food joint, not Tom ;-).  I won't have any time to do anything until well after
the NELUG train show at the end of the month but I might try something that
stays true to the theme but adds a local feel just as an experiment.
