I don't think that the parts are too rare.  Here is the official Spamcake Diner
web site-- see for yourself (although I know that the outside has undergone
subsequent revision since those pics were taken-- I saw the completed model at the
Kidvention:-)

Of course I guess they don't all have to be identical as
long as they all follow a basic theme (Both color wise and architechurally).  I
know all the Hard Rock's arn't identical.

True, but I think that it would be best to follow the original as closely as
possible (and why not, it's an awesome MOC!)  I just would want Tom to get the
credit (maybe we call them "Tom McDonald's Spamcake Diner"?).

The T-Shirts would be great too!

The profits from the shirts, of course, would go to the PMCF (Progeny of
McSpamcake's College Fund;-)

As we at the GMLTC rebuild our layout and create a whole new town
section, I had an idea which I thought would be pretty fun.  Wouldn't it
be fun to build a Spamcake Diner on the GMLTC layout?  Then I thought:
wouldn't it be fun if the Spamcake Diner franchised out on to every
LTC's layout?  What a fun way to (ahem) build a little LTC camaraderie!
Then I thought that I could print up some T-shirts with the Spamcake
Diner logo a la the Hard Rock Cafe listing the specific cities of the
clubs...

I ran this idea by Tom McDonald, the owner of the original Spamcake
Diner, and he seemed to think it was a fun idea-- ('course, he's a
little busy now that the new KABOB has arrived;)  If we could get ldraw
the diner, we could all copy it and put one on our layouts, or maybe we
could just get Tom to take a bunch of detail pics of it and go from
there.

Anyone else think this would be a fun idea?  The whole story behind
"Spamcake" is so fun and, if I'm not mistaken, evolved in OT.fun.  If
nothing else, I'm going to have one on my home layout:-)
