| | Spybotic control of train speed regulator
| Hello all, Lets put in front what I find a smart improvement of the basic (soon old) train 9V speed regulator. (URL) This is a picture that arrived very recently on brickshelf showing how to adapt a spybotic to control at distance a 9V train speed (...) (19 years ago, 1-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| | Re: New Trains and BBB Wheels? (was: Re: Still more)
| (...) Yep, I can only dream that the adjusted the gear ratio in the new motors. The current 9v train motors run way to fast, I'd gladdly trade that for a bit more torque. But even at differnt speeds, the BBB wheels have less traction, allowing them (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| | SpeedRail TGV Thalys
| Hi all, Ran across some photos of this train ((URL) 1>, (URL) 2>, (URL) 3>, (URL) 4>) the other day and thought it rather neat: a Thalys TGV in different colours. The real thing was to run between Sydney and Canberra but cost too much so never (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

| (...) I wonder if you could use the new IR motor in a steam engine, driving the drivers, and an old 9V motor in the tender. With a wire between the two, you could have a double-powerful steam engine, with powered drivers and standard transformer (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Dawn of a New Era in LEGO Trains!
| (...) Hi John! Long time since I last time read/heard of you. Your 10w caboose looks great. Next I wanted to see a BigBoy engine pulling this and some dozen "SCHLEIM"-tanker cars in between... :-) Keep us old Lugnetters updated, please + Leg Godt! (...) | | Re: modding the new IR trains
| (...) Might make your wheel spacing awkward, but a good idea. Has anyone tried this with a 9V BASIC motor?. (...) Just putting in some high-capacity NiMH batteries would extend the life from one charge. But, building in a charging socket and circuit (...) | | Re: Thoughts on Spy Photos of New Trains
| (...) Having metal wheels has its ups and downs. One down is that you won't be able to run it on a 9v line independent of the 9v train. We probably won't be able to run to IR controled trains independently of each other (one remote will likely (...) (19 years ago, 6-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) That would seem to be correct, but you're forgetting that if you put big wheels on the battery motor, and connect it to a 9V motor with its small wheels, they'll try to go at different speeds (assuming, as has been suggested, that the motor (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Seven wide Koef Shunter
| (...) I've enough 9v stuff to keep me going for a bit but I take your point regarding the IR trains - difficult but not impossible in 7-wide. I also look on 7-wide as a wide 6-wide. I've seen some very convincing MOC examples and note that you can (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
