I once read that hobbies like mrr do better in times of recession. The MS
report would then agree with this as our economy has been showing signs for
some time of slowing down.
The reasoning of up-sales in times of a slower economy is that people opt
for less-expensive pursuits and avoid big-ticket ones (motorbikes, boats,
trips, sportscars, etc.).
I would think that other up-items may be sewing machines, craft tools, and
backpacking equipment. [para-quoting the Wall Street Journal from a few
years back: on the last dime, the masses can still camp).
