P.S. Shouldn't John be chiming in right now with the observation that extreme low
slopes would fit on an eight wide box car? (Extreme extreme low slopes would fit
on a twelve or fourteen wide box car.)

Hey Chris-

I'm chiming;-)  Sorry, been out of town and and just catching up on email.  As to
answer your question- yes, the extreme low slopes are perfect for 8 wide box cars-- I
have collected enough to build box cars of blue, yellow, dark gray, and gray, with
green on the way;-)  I haven't gotten over the silly graphics on the red ones to
consider amassing them yet.  I will have to take some new pics of my box cars soon
but alas, no time now:-(

As for the 6x8 extreme low slopes, my 14 wide caboose as well as my 14 wide box car
already employ them, with 4 more box car/reefers under construction.  Check out:

OK, I have just decided to create the NO LTC. Read it however you want,
"No LEGO Train Club" or "New Orleans LEGO Train Club". This train club
will exist for only one reason; I want to submit a box car to the
Kidvention/World Record attempt. I assume box cars should be six wide?
Also, when looking at box car pictures I noticed that their roofs are
very flat. Are people modeling roofs with low slopes, or would plates or
tiles be a better way to model the flatter roof.

I typically use low slopes which are technically a bit too steep of a pitch for
the roof but which make me happy. Using a 2 stud wide one plate high ridge in
the center of an otherwise flat roof might also work.
