I noticed someone lately offered to trade some 4537s he had for some 4536
blue hoppers, and someone took him up on the offer. I personally consider
the 4536 to be "worth more" than 4537s, but that's because I have so many
of them.
My recent DYA buy didn't turn out as well as I had hoped - Emmanuel DID
have to change one of my orders, so I only got half of the 4547/4549s I was
hoping for. I already have some committed for trades, and am going to keep
few left, so I don't have any more available.
HOWEVER, the one 4537/4547/4549 order was substituted with a bunch of 4537s
(with my OK), so that Emmanuel didn't have to cancel another CC order. So
now, instead of paying off my 4547/4549s (the few I have left) by selling
some 4547/4549s, I only have 4537s to sell.
I'm thinking of a straight sale of these through Lugnet/RTL rather than
hassle with Ebay, but I really don't know if people would pay what I need
to try to get for them (so my wife doesn't KILL me for the total bill).
What I am considering:
4539 - $65
4532 - $60
4537 - $45
All of these prices are lower than Ebay lately, but I really don't know if
they are "fair", or if enough people would be interested at those prices.
I priced the 4539s higher than the 4532s because they're older and much
harder to find (and I want to keep them more).
So, what do people think? I know I can just throw the prices out there and
see what happens, but I'd like opinions. And I'd rather sell them all
quickly than drag it on through Ebay auctions (yet I can't really afford to
drop the prices too low to sell them off quickly, as I have a set amount I
need to pull in to keep my wife happy).
(Some may consider this "scalping" or similar, but the only way I can
afford any Lego anymore is by buying multiples at discount and selling some
to help reduce the cost of the ones I keep - I spent WAY too much on Lego
the last Q99).
NOTE - I will trade 2 of the 4537s for 4536s, and I'll trade anything above
towards a complete 4558 (dreaming).

| My 2 centavos. (...) This strikes me as skewed. The older crossing is now rarer and is worth much (30-50%??) more than the newer one. (...) A tad high. My 4536s ended up averaging around 47 each across all of them. I personally (and I KNOW that (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

| Argh, I should have been clearer on this, I've confused several people... (...) The S on the 4536 meant 2 4536s - as in: NOTE - I will trade 2 of the 4537s for 2 4536s, and I'll trade anything above towards a complete 4558 (dreaming). Sorry. (...) (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)
