Re: Norfolk & Western Y6b 2-8-8-2 Steam Locomotive

(...) Cale: That is one sweet looking loco. :-) I happen to be a fan of the jagged boiler look. It gives it that strong, tough, and rough around the edges look. Very nice. I agree with Tony that 9-wide just sets this thing off. It really puts it in (...) (17 years ago, 26-Jan-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

(...) The toggle bit is checked in Single output mode (the documentation is not quite right for this mode) and in both single pin modes. each message is sent 5 times you need to toggle the toggle bit in every message sent. 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 etc. bob (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Norfolk & Western Y6b 2-8-8-2 Steam Locomotive

(...) Wow. Just... wow. I absolutely love this locomotive. Not just because it looks great, but because the way you've solved some problems I've run into in the past with attaching pilot and rear trucks. I've been drooling over this locomotive now (...)   Norfolk & Western Y6b 2-8-8-2 Steam Locomotive

Norfolk & Western Y6b 2-8-8-2 Steam Locomotive After tackling a few rigid frame steamers I decided for my next challenge to build an articulated. So I chose one of my favorite Mallets the (URL) N&W Y6b>. (3 URLs) Brickshelf Gallery> after (...) (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!

Re: Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(...) This is great news indeed, thank you for posting. Has anyone tried the rc train remote on a power function reciver to see if it uses the single output pwm control signals? If not, hopefully the new RC train system will be compatible. It also (...) (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

(...) I don't have BrickOS, but I have been playing with the protocols in NBC. I got the twin-motor PWM mode to work in tests, and the original 'Combo direct'. But I can't get 'Single output' or either of the 'Single pin' modes to work. Have you had (...) (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

Now you can use your RCX to control LEGO Power Functions. That's right the RCX can act as a PF remote control but it can do something that the PF remote can't do yet. The RCX can do PWM with your PF reciever moduals. You do not need to install (...)   Re: Long Span Suspension Bridge?

(...) Ted: Here's V2.0 of my 92-stud bridge. I added the vertical bracing and it made a HUGE difference in both the stability of the deck and the lateral stability of the actual truss structure.   Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(2 URLs) The LEGO company just released a document detailing the complete protocol used by Power Functions RC receiver. I host the document on my (URL) Power Functions presentation page>. As you can see this opens up a new world of possibilities... (...) (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.announce, FTX) !!

  Re: Long Span Suspension Bridge?

I've found the deck can be pretty insubstantial; even in minifig scale, the truss carries the weight. The Notre Dame Bridge is about 320 studs long and has been up for over a year now: (URL) At least, I have heard no news of its collapse. It can (...)
