   Hi,

I’m very impressed by those two official 8-wide LEGO models (7990 and 7998). Both are very nice and also detialed (to this scale) trucks. My question is - can we expect further 8-wide official models from LEGO ?

Thanks.

Peter,

It looks like the answer to your question just appeared in a picture posted on Brickset. The Summer 2008 lineup will include an 8-wide truck as part of the new Coast Guard line. The name translates to “Coast Guard Beach Truck with Speedboat”. It looks like a set with excellent play value and some great new parts:

The truck features the new 2/3 x 2 x 4 curved slope bricks, new shallow wheel wells in blue, and new hinged panels in orange. I’m not sure if the balloon tires are also a new design. The boat trailer features some unique parts for the fenders. The boat itself appears to have a hull of a new design and color - orange. Looks like a great set!
