A while back, there was some discussion about UCS train models, so I created
this as a response.  It can be used as a static model, though it could also be
adapted for use as a working locomotive.  I tried to make it as realistic as
possible, within the constraints imposed by the LEGO Factory parts assortment.
The model makes use of more unusual colors by Factory standards.  The cab is
nearly all SNOT, so it is possible that upon building, one will find revisions
needing to be made, though I tried to make sure there were no design "bugs".
And, the model builds on Paul D'Urbano's very good idea on how to do handrails
in Factory without flex tubing.  The radiator design in the CAD rendering
differs slightly from the actual.

Woah, That looks good. I'm having a little difficulty with the file that
the LEGO store is supplying. I've discovered that my Mac unzips the lxf
"zip" archive provided by the Store site one step too far. I've also
discovered that since the Factory preview doesn't send the file as a zip
archive, my computer doesn't unzip it too far. So, to make a short story
long...

I really like what I see, but could I have your username, so I can find
the model in your gallery, so I can download the lxf file from the
Factory (and not the Store) web site? (Nice run on sentence, don't you
think?)

Thanks,
Chris

Ah, ok.  My username is "jbschwarz" on the Factory website.  Hope that you have
better luck obtaining the LXF file that way.  If not, I could email it to you or
something.
