Not at all. Its actually quite practical. Lets face it-- the 9 volt LEGO
train system is doomed for extinction. Soon there will be no more metal
track being produced, and the electric train motor will be discontinued as
well. We all know that the new RC battery system is woefully inadequate
for all but the shortest 6 wide trains, so what to do?
Simple. Go elsewhere for those items. I guess you could crib from Lionel or
O gauge 2 rail producers, but I decided that I liked gauge 1 (1:32) more.
But, more generally, how can the LEGO train hobby survive if TLG
discontinues the motors, track, and powersource for it? In 10 years, all I
see is a future where pathetic dinosaurs (us) showing off our antiquated and
slowly-expiring choo choos. :-(

LEGO train-heads :(
