Hi All,
This is my version of the lead engine of the
Royal Orient: YG 3415. As a
typical Indian steamer this train offered huge amounts of small details to
add. Every time I thought I had all the important details Id look again and
discover another one was missing.
|
And it looks as if you nailed many of the details. Fabulous. On this MOC, due
to the various colors, the details stand out much more and are more apparent.

The prominent bands around the nearly six-wide boiler were a real challenge
to get into the model. After much thinking and considering (and a big mistake
that wasted most of yesterday) I came up with a solution combining octagons
based around the 2x2 plate with octagonal clip and flex. Ive included a
segment cutaway in
the BS folder to show how its done as it might prove useful to other train
designs.

Excellent. Other than what I term as roof junk I havent yet been able to use
the octagon part. (Roof junk to me are the little creations placed on roofs of
buildings to busy them up and make them look like something is going on.)
This model is just stunning.
Best,
Jonathan
