Adding to Paul's comment about sub assemblies... when building using
LDD, I have noticed that it is difficult to build SNOT assemblies,
especially when some of the bricks aren't directly attached to the SNOT
brick. I have discovered that building the SNOT assemble stud up next to
the model, selecting all the bricks of the assembly at once, rotating
them as a group, and moving them into place is far easier than trying to
build the SNOT assembly in place.
I also use this techniques when building a roof assembly where one of
the bricks that spans a gap doesn't touch either of the walls. Getting
bricks to sit next to each other is much easier when you can place the
bricks on the "virtual" floor. Once everything is connected by studs,
it's easy to pick it up and move it into place.
