  Danish train show electronics

Does anyone know what this little bit of electronics is for? (URL) from a LEGO event recently held in Denmark. I found the link on Jan Beyer's Blog ( (URL) ) but there's a problem with that blog which makes it impossible to write comments. (18 years ago, 4-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: British Rail Class 08

(...) Hi Carl, Thanks for your comments and glad you like it. Unfortunately the mood strikes me quite rarely these days as I'm having a lot of fun jumping from theme to theme after a very solid run of trains last year. That said an interesting (...) (18 years ago, 3-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: British Rail Class 08

(...) I like it a lot! It's small, sweet, detailed and very curved! I even put the picture of it as my Desktop Wallpaper, which only entices me more into wanting to build it :-) I hope you'll be in the mood again soon if you can create such lovely (...)   PSLTC show at the Puyallup Fair

This year, The Puget Sound Lego Train Club (PSLTC) was asked to be the main model railroad layout for the fair. The layout was a great success and thanks goes out to all of the members and all of the people who helped out with staffing. Pictures: (2 (...)   Customizing the 7897 Passenger Train: Danish IC4, version 3

Hey, Bought the 7897 Passenger Train the other day and immediately realized that it would take only a few modifications to turn the German ICE-like design into the Danish IC4 passenger train. Here's the result: (URL) All the pictures in the (URL) (...) (18 years ago, 1-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, FTX) !

Re: BayLTC @ Great Train Expo, San Jose

(...) That is correct. James made some new instructions after seeing Ross's version and I built it. You can see James' instructions and pictures of the trolleys I built here (URL) (18 years ago, 27-Sep-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf.sj, lugnet.org.us.baylug, FTX)

(...) Hello, Jonathan- This version looks very close to (URL) Ross' riff> on James Mathis' design. History (URL) HERE>. JOHN (18 years ago, 27-Sep-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf.sj, lugnet.org.us.baylug, FTX)

Re: BayLTC @ Great Train Expo, San Jose

(...) I think it's a James Mathis design, built by Bruce Chamberlain. But I might have that mixed up with another trolley. If it is a Mathis then you can probably get the plans from him. (URL) (18 years ago, 27-Sep-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf.sj, lugnet.org.us.baylug)

  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) Actually a typical bridge rectifier will drop ~1.4 volts in the supply. That's alot! About a 16% drop in voltage, and a 29% drop in overall power at the top end. I'm not sure what effect this would have on the control circuitry. Mat (18 years ago, 27-Sep-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

However, with my (URL) breakdown crane>, I found that it did increase the rolling resistance somewhat in corners, so your trains will slow down more (...)
