Yes it is. You get one segment and a truck for construction as a set. I can't
find the pictures again but they appeared on BrickShelf and Eurobricks a while
ago. Perhaps someone else can dig them up.

I have considered the modification potential too. I will not try it myself as I
am awful at that sort of thing but I imagine it will make life easier for track
modders as they will no longer have to deal with plastic/metal track and can do
all work on the plastic and add metal at the last stage.
I am very positive about this system, particularly if they continue to sell the
9V motors.
