We just did a train show last weekend. (pics & video to follow) We had a pretty
small GBC (10 modules).
While the GBC didn't have the detail, or refined appearance of the beautiful
building and bridges in the rest of the layout, it was really cool to have people
just standing there watching it endlessly.

Very nice layout. I like the balls going down the hills, and back up.
I suspect you'll have a difficult time if you try to paint the balls. A handful of
the soccer balls we used last weekend (and at other events, like BrickFest) almost
have the dots worn off.
However, it is good to have a couple (very few) balls of a different color. I found
some LEGO "Team Challenge?" basket ball sets that had both red and blue basket
balls. (a couple of each) So, in addition to about 400 soccer balls, there was one
red ball, one blue ball, 3 orange balls, and one "Addias" ball, which is white with
blue stuff on it. It gave people something to look for.
Nice Job.
Steve
PS, while at the train show, I finally picked up a couple DCC modules...
