Terry,
That's two questions!
Minifigs are inside it but I have had to use a 2x1 brick or plates for the legs
to reduce the height of the standing ones. It's quite amazing how each hair
piece or hat affects the height of the 'figs with such variance - I'm even
thinking of using baldies to hold up the roof with their headstuds. As you can
imagine, there are very few wizards riding the Lego tube trains..
I've not explored the door opening possibility but I can say that appearances
were more important than functionality here. It IS possible to provide opening
doors (sliding) on a 6-wide train but the tight profile and shape of the LU
'tube stock' is probably the worst place to start! The complications of the 45
degree top door sections are obvious, the minimal inset of the doors being a
less obvious but equally challenging factor.
I'll attempt some more pictures but can't promise when!
Jon
