SCLTC opened its current layout at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum last
night (December 5) for the first of two special evening showings from 17:00 to
21:00 as part of the annual December Nights celebration in Balboa Park (San
Diego, CA). Total visitors for the first night at the SDMRRM: 4,560 (one guest
every 3.16 seconds!)
We received the usual round of questions and comments, but one notable new one
surfaced: {Did you (and/or LEGO) make (not "buy" or "use") a lot of custom
parts to build this?} One notably less frequent question: {Is this a set?}
December Nights 2003 concludes tonight. Parking is problematical and visitors
are urged to walk, use public transportation, or to take a free shuttle from a
remote parking facility.
Be sure to identify yourself as a LUGNET reader to one of our club members
manning the layout tonight if you drop by.
