Hi All,

I've just completed a page describing my motorized switch here:

This works with unmodified switches, but I'm not sure if I have the
new "stiffer" variety or not, so I'm interested in hearing from someone
who knows they have the new style switches how it works for them.

Cheers,

That looks good.  I used the double-elastic band on my drive mechanism too.  It
gives you a fair amount of power but with good over-run protection.

I drove the switching slider directly with a gear rack, but after seeing a
pneumatic model I realised that the yellow lever has some springiness in it.
That can be used to store power during the change-over to overcome the catch in
the mechanism (rather than having to rely on raw pushing power).  So, this may
work better with stiff new points.

I wonder if it would work better with stiff points if you could somehow add an
extra linkage to grip the stud of the yellow lever, rather than loosely pulling
on the pin side.  Or maybe to grip both sides.
