Greetings all,

[ ... snipped ... ]

You can access these polls here:  http://members.lugnet.com/polls/

Thanks in advance for your help!  Just from glancing at the catalog I'm
leaning towards the Large Classic Train Engine Kit or the Deluxe • Metroliner
Kit!

I submitted my opinion to your poll but also thought I would comment on it
here as well.

Two weeks ago I probably would have said the Santa Fe kit would be your best
choice.  Today, I would go with the Metroliner.  Why?  Because we (Cary
Clark and I) had a lot of problems getting a long Santa Fe train to run last
weekend (see Cary's post for more details -
http://news.lugnet.com/trains/?n=17905).

While the models in the Santa Fe series are superb, there are some issues
actually running them, particularly if you are going to do so on a small
loop.  The Metroliner doesn't suffer from any of these issues and it is a
great set.

Mike

Best Train to Purchase for a Newbie? (Poll)

Greetings all, I've been a huge Lego fan for most of my life, largely because of my father. While he has never owned any sets himself, he always participated in building when I was young, and he always drooled over all of the train sets. Well, this (...) (22 years ago, 6-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains)
