Herewith the answer to questions from John Warren, James Mathis and Bill
Ward.
The stairs (from James his Truck) can be mounted very sturdy.
Instructions for the SNOT-solution can be found here:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=24629
Follow the steps in the blue-background-pics, to get exactly the same
stairs as James originaly made.
NOTE: the solution is mine, already from quite some time ago.
Because of these 'Oriental-truck-questions' I discussed it with James
M., and HE produced (in no-time) these beautifull PoVray's from MY MLCad
drawing. Thanks again James!
At first I suggested that he should publish the pics, write this message
etc. (I'm normally to lazy for all that work...) but he refused. !@#~$%^#
Reason: his name and building skills are already well known (?!), mine
not. I had to promise James I would publish, so, here I'm sitting,
trying to communicate in my best English. :-)
...and during all this typing and BS uploading-time I'm not able to
build with my favorite toys...
Serious again now:
Some other pics show improvements and suggestions, based on the same
building principle.
- the stairs one plate-hight up, for THE perfect 'looks' (IMO)
- an improvement of the bottom-connection with some plates and a
plate-with-handle. This is my best version, I'll keep that one as a
standard.
- a real-life implementation on one of my MOC's; stairs exactly beneath
a passengers entrance.
- stairs between the wheels; much easier to build....
- 1x2 panels used as stairs. For better looks on passengers cars.
Comments? More improvements? Suggestions for other implementations?
Shoot! ...I started to participate and share solutions, so, I'm ready
for more!
Happy building all.
