New Cars added to WWII Train ...

Hi all, I've uploaded a few new train cars to my WWII train. As soon as they're available for public consumption, you can see: (1) A Tanker Car based on Steve Barile's great design, showcasing a snot walkway atop the tank, (2) A generic freight (...)   Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) I would have expected TLC to do them in the same color as the 8448 supercar wheel hubs, silver champion etc. (22 years ago, 5-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) And every model you've seen is incorrectly modeling the prototype... ;-) (URL) the page that John Neal dug up that I referred to in my post) No stripes on the prototype. This has been discussed before. I agree that models *can* look good with (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) I had just come to the same conclusion regarding the mis-labelled images for the Dining Car and Mail Car - comparing to the images at the well-referenced "Fallen Flags" page - (URL) would be strange too if one of the alternative models needs (...)   Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) That's what I assumed. First time I saw it is in the printed curved wings of the Green Goblin's flyer <set:1374>. I got a handful of bricks in it from the RLD backstage visit to LLW, left over from their Virgin Atlantic 747-400 cockpit model. (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) I like these, and I like the idea of having optional builds with each set. Rumours were that we'd see a B-kit before anything else, but these are a nice surprise. I do wonder about the mass appeal of these though - clearly they're aimed at (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) Hmmm. Every model I've seen of the Super Chief has had the stripes. Since I haven't researched the prototype, maybe the designers of the models had used too much "poetic license". Maybe other trains of the time didn't have the same decorating (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) Fine set of cars. But as for the 'silver': I fear those bricks are molded in the new swirly plastic that is supposed to look metallic, but actually looks like really cheap plastic. May still be nice for a change as opposed to regular bricks, (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: May I publish documentatino of the 4548?

(...) Yes, the idea is to make a page about it and how to lower the output voltage and how to get more power from it. As A part of it I draw a schematic of it, which I'd like to publish to with calcualtions. The schematic is taken directly from the (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) I'm not sure they actually *are* missing those stripes. Many pictures of typical ATSF stock from the period show them to be all stainless. For instance the ATSF Super Chief reference that John has posted a few times does not show stripes IIRC. (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)
