Following the Red Letter Day at LEGOLand Windsor (read all about it in
lugnet.loc.uk and see
http://www.btinternet.com/~hmillington/legofest10day2/) I have been busy
using some of the rare and otherwise unobtainable bricks obtained in the 1Kg
of LEGO we were given on the day in new train creations.

Some of you may remember my green diesel
http://www.brickset.com/huwhomepage/moc/trains/locos/index.html

I was able to acquire the necessary curved bricks in blue thus making it
possible to make it blue, which was the colour of all British Rail diesels
in the 1970's and '80's.:

Note the light (Maersk) blue stripe and metallic grey tile nameplate.

I have also used the 1x4x1.33 curved bricks to improve the look of the 4536
hopper, and also given it a light blue stripe:

Next up is a grey hopper, typical of British 4 wheel designs:

This also uses the 1x4x1.33 sloped bricks, this time in grey.

Also in this gallery, http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=15767,
are a few older designs, including

a container flat for carrying containers that would otherwise be out of
gauge,

a bogie van that uses the ITLUG 1/6th brick width technique

an engineering ballast hopper

a bogie covered hopper

yet another 4 wheel hopper

As ever LMKWYT.

Stripes in light blue? Is that all you can do? :-) I think they're really good. The diesel looks better now with more yellow at the front, and those curved-top bricks really make the hopper something special. Those other wagons look the part too. (...)
