Oh wow, that's really good.  Great detailing.

Thanks.  I need some advice for making it run smoother, though.  How do other
people attach the motor to plates without using a train baseplate?  I have a
solution using a technic 2x4 plate flush with the base of the loco, but maybe
there is a smoother solution?  Also, my couplers are attached to the frame of
the train instead of the trucks and I think this causes some problems when
pushing another car.  What's a good solution for frame-mounted couplers
(currently using a 2x3 plate with hole in center top...with the coupler put in
upside down to get it lower)?

Nice to see I'm not the only one doing that sidewriting now.  Personally I'd
have gone for the full 4 studs high to do all the lettering clearly, or just
blocked in the 'P's and 'A's, but that's my style.  I guess you wanted the
yellow band across the top, and that's a pretty good suggestion of those
letters anyway.

Yeah, I had fun with the lettering.  Anyone notice the UP 7740 on the other
side...I guess that's kinda corny.  I thought about UP 0937 too :)

I love the grey diagonals on the top edges of the cab too - how's that done?

It's a Plate 3 x 3 without Corner (http://img.lugnet.com/ld/2450.gif) with
tiles on top sitting on a half-stud offset tile.
