Hey all
Under the topic of the "Permanent Outdoor Train" there have been
sugeestions to build your own track. Great idea, but would it be
possible to make track flexible. They have this type of track redialy
available for other model railways.
Such track allows for you to set your own radius curves, you can also
put in vertical curves and bumps. And most importantly, the bane of lego
tracks, the lack of transition curves can be removed.
The trains look very messy when they go directly out of a straight into
a constant radius curve, and anyone designing a real life road or
railway would never do this.
One difficulty of such an item i've thouhgt of is making the rails able
to connect up to existing lego track, however, if you have enough of
this new form of track, you wont have to connect them up to anything ;)

Anyhoo, just some food for though

Cheers
Santosh

(...) The "make your own suggestion" actually gives you more flexibility than flex track. You actually build the track in place, much the same way as is done in real life (traditionally, in real life these days they're actually starting to use (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains)
