Two more things on this topic and then I'm going to post the transcript of the Q&A. 1) The train engine that was given as a goft was number: A8841. 2) Train engines 1 - 5 will be auctioned off on eBay.com by LEGO in the future. This is something new (...) (23 years ago, 19-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

Yes, we'd want to track all of the units, even if they're never "commissioned" in to service. It would be interesting to see if a pattern apears for numbers here in the states versus sets sold in Europe and other parts of the world. I'll send you (...) (23 years ago, 19-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I feel that it's not just width, you have to increase length a fair bit and height a small bit when you go to 8 wide, so I would argue that the brick increase is anywhere from 30% to 100%, tending toward the higher of that range. J2 disagrees, (...) (23 years ago, 19-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)
