John,

Welcome to LUGNET! I don't know how James Mathis did it? Maybe he can help,
with some info or links?

Also thanks for coming out to Jax GATS...

Thanks!  It was a fun experience.  It also allowed me to be on Lugnet.  But
now I have a problem.  I don't have anywere to show my pictures!  I don't
have enough money (and don't want to pay) to be a member of Lugnet,
adequate.com won't accept my image types, and you have to 13 or up to use
brickshelf.  My birthday's in August, but I don't want to wait that long.  I
can't make my own website either.  Any help/Suggestions?  I have an APT cab
built, but I can't display it!

John Henry Kruer, who dosn't like being 12.

I sincerely regre the 13 year old restriction, but unfortunately
it is required by U.S. Law.  The Children's Online Privacy Protection
Act (COPPA) prohibits the collection of personally identifying information
(such as email addresses) from personss under 13 years of age without
parental consent.  It is not practical for Brickshelf to implement
acceptable forms of parental verification at this time.  Because
Brickshelf requires a valid email address to verify identity (to reduce
the problems associated with anonymous accounts), we can't allow
persons under 13 to create an account.  Note that Brickshelf does not
prohibit persons with an account from letting other persons use that account.
The 'owner' of the account is responsible for the actions of anyone they
let use the account.  Your parents, (or anyone) could create an
account (with their email address) and let you use it as long as they
trusted you not to violate the TOS.  Of course, since Brickshelf does
not know the age of account holders, we have no way of knowing if you
are 13 or not unless someone brings that to our attention, or you
tell us when you sign up.  I hope you can find a solution that allows
you to upload your creations, we'd love to se them!
