That's my problem: among nearly 50 hook couplings which I own, there are a
dozen of the 2x2 kind. So they exist but they are much more rare (I searched
for 2x2 couplings just because of their rarity, when I had more then enough 2x4
ones already.)
I have always bought them loose, only in one case I bought a 111 set with
2x2 couplings (and I'm quite sure it has never been mixed with any other train
stuff since it came in a collection where no other trains where included).
But I think it would make no sense, when only set 111 had come with these
couplings. There are several trains from 1966: They should have had same type
of couplings, shouldn't they?
Kind Regards,
Ben

| (...) Ben, As best as I can say, in the UK all the sets you list came with 2x4 couplings. I say this from direct personal experience, except the 114 which was never available in the UK. Neither was 080 oficially, but I can confirm that one because I (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.trains)
