Train weights are used to keep a train on track.
The problem is in curves, where it might derail. The weight will pull the
train down and keep it on the track.
Lego had their weight over the wheels, but I find it is better to have them
next to the wheels - meaning under the frame.
Weight bricks are hard to come by these days, but you can made some your self.
One way is to e.g. have a 6xX box under your train, and put in something heavy.
My solution is bismuth, a metal which one can melt with a soldering iron and
fill into bricks.
See my example:

I have used them also for these cars

The idea of having weight bricks under the frame is used in these two:

NOTE there is a problem with Netscape - still. Also some other errors which
hopefully soon will be corrected.
