Yes. The mishmash of scales really highlights the difference between Scale
and Gauge.
The track gauge that LGB chose is the old Gauge 1, I think... Standard gauge
at 1:32 *scale* or very close. So you see Aristocraft selling first
generation diesel era standard gauge cars that run on this track but they
are done at 1:32 or thereabouts. IIRC.
The tie spacing is too wide on LBG track, of course because that GAUGE they
chose was used to represent Meter gauge track... that then drove what the
scale needed to be which is why it is 1:22.5
(this letting scale be driven by gauge is why HO is 1:87... a convenient
gauge was chosen and the scale adjusted to fit)
MR scales and gauges are a mess, basically, IMHO... Do what you want and be
happy. Not like Lego is to scale anyway.

| (...) time...like ~50 years :) (...) Meter gauge (...) Ya, why not go the whole hog and model in Gauge 1? (of course, then you loose the advantages of Lego...) James Powell (23 years ago, 1-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)
